Pakistan is the 5th largest producer and the 3rd largest exporter of mango in the world. Its soil and climatic conditions enable production and market supplies of best quality fresh mango over a period of about 5-6 months. The main mango growing districts in Punjab are Multan, Rahim yar Khan, Muzaargarh and Bahawalpur. In the province of Sindh, on the other hand, mangoes are mostly grown in Mirpurkhas, Tando Allah Yar and Hyderabad.
Chaunsa is the most tasteful and luscious mango with the shape of an oblong oval. It has an amazing taste and fragrance and is a yellowish amber colour when it is ripened.
Sindhri Mango is the most delicious of all the varieties. It tastes sweet, has the shape of an oblong oval and features a lemon yellow colour when it is ripened. Sindhri mango is mostly cultivated in the areas of Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad.
Anwarratol Mango is known as the king of all mangoes. It has a very sweet taste, is an oval shape and has a pale yellow colour when it is ripened. Anwerratol is produced in the province of Punjab.
